Colour turns stainless into a graphic object rather than a metal one. We use automotive paint for exact brand colours, powder coat for durability, and PVD coatings where a metallic tone is wanted that will not fade or chip like paint.

When coloured stainless sculpture is the right answer - and when it is not
Painted stainless combines metal's strength and thinness with colour that cannot be achieved in bare metal. It is chosen where the design depends on a specific brand or scheme colour, or where several pieces must read as a matched set. It suits interiors and sheltered exteriors where the coating will last, and it is a poor choice for exposed coastal settings unless the coating system is specified for that exposure specifically.
How the work is actually carried out
The metal is fabricated and then prepared for coating properly - degreased, abraded and primed with a system compatible with the topcoat, because coating failure almost always starts at the interface. Paint is applied in a controlled environment wherever the piece allows, in the specified colour and sheen, with edges and recesses given the extra attention they need. The piece is protected for transport, and any site touch-up is done with the same batch of paint, recorded so future repairs match.
