Immersive work removes the boundary between exhibit and environment. Projection, sound, light and physical setting are designed as one, and the visitor's route through the space is the narrative.
Commissioned work in immersive experience space normally runs from 6 to 30 m², with 3–8 working days in production from approved drawings. The reference range for this technique is CNY 300+ per m², quoted itemised. It sits within our Cultural Tourism & Scenic Fit-out capability, alongside 11 related techniques, and the 4-point deliverable below is what a commission includes as standard.
When immersive experience space is the right answer - and when it is not
Immersive spaces are chosen when the exhibit itself is the room - projection, sound, light and physical setting designed as one environment rather than as objects placed inside a box. They suit tourist attractions, heritage sites, brand experience centres and pop-up shows where the goal is a repeatable, controllable experience. It is the wrong route when content cannot be produced or maintained, because these spaces live or die by what is played in them rather than by how they were built.
How the work is actually carried out
The visitor route is written as a narrative before any surface is designed, with show timing, dwell points and the transition between rooms fixed so the equipment can be planned around them. Projection is engineered as a system: multi-projector blending calibrated to the actual surface geometry, spatial audio tuned to the room rather than to a specification, and show control uniting them on one cue list. Because the room is dark and the content is bright, surfaces are chosen for uniformity and low reflectivity, and seams and dust become visible, so the finish standard is higher than a lit gallery. The show is then rehearsed nightly before opening and handed over with a playback routine and spares, since a dark room with a dead projector is a closed attraction.

Reference price bands for Immersive experience space
Indicative only, based on the scope normally quoted for immersive experience space. A firm price follows a site survey and an itemised quotation split into material, labour, finishing, packing and freight.
| Scope | Typical area | Reference total | Unit rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small area | 6–15 m² | CNY 1,800 – CNY 8,100 | approx. CNY 540/m² |

Build tiers for immersive experience space
Immersive experience space is not one product at one size: the table below is the same scope ladder we quote on, so you can see where your project sits before asking for a price.
| Build tier | Typical area | Production days | What changes at this tier |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | Up to 30 m², one substrate and one access setup, 3–8 days in the workshop. |
| Tier 2 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | 6–30 m² across two or more faces, 3–8 days, substrate build-up agreed per location. |
| Tier 3 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | 6–30 m² across two or more faces, 3–8 days, substrate build-up agreed per location. |
| Tier 4 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | 6–30 m² across two or more faces, 3–8 days, substrate build-up agreed per location. |
| Tier 5 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | 6–30 m² across two or more faces, 3–8 days, substrate build-up agreed per location. |
| Tier 6 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | 6–30 m² across two or more faces, 3–8 days, substrate build-up agreed per location. |
| Tier 7 | 6–30 m² | 3–8 | 6 m² and above, multiple substrate types and phased access, 3–8 days with a join and numbering plan. |
What we deliver
- Master-planning input and node-by-node priority list
- Gateway monuments, signage and wayfinding systems
- Exhibition interior, display cases and lighting
- Night-lighting and immersive experience rooms
Faults we see most often in immersive experience space
Each of these is a field failure rather than a workshop one, and each is cheaper to prevent at enquiry stage than to correct after installation.
- Designing the room before the content, which produces beautiful surfaces that no available show can actually fill.
- Specifying projectors to output figures without calibrating against the real surface geometry, so blends are visible and the illusion breaks.
- Ignoring service access for projectors, lenses and cabling, so every lamp change requires scaffolding.
What to settle before an overseas project starts
| Show length, route and throughput | How long the experience runs, how many visitors per hour, and whether groups move through or wander freely. |
|---|---|
| Content source and ownership | Whether we produce content, you supply it, or it is licensed - and who is responsible for updates and playback. |
| Operating hours and maintenance access | Daily runtime, who operates the show, and how equipment is reached for maintenance and replacement. |
